Fishing Fever

Old man winter gave way and this past weekend the Throwback gang decided to stretch our fishing arms on some early season fly fishing to get us warmed up for some upcoming bass fishing adventures.  We started out at Casey Creek in Cadiz, KY. for a wonderful day of fishing.  We landed many rainbows.  The…

Have you ever considered following a passion that you loved...or wished that you could find a getaway that truly puts you out of your everyday walk of life and into the wild?  Are you are the kind of person who looks forward to those long weekends out on a boat fishing, walking the shorelines waiting for that fish to tighten your lines with every cast, or just love to go camping in the remote areas and enjoy the calm that the day provides?  If that describes you then you can put yourself in our shoes.  We appreciate being in the outdoors, hunting and fishing alike.   We love to look forward to our annual trip to Quetico, Canada and fish for the abundance of smallmouth, Northern Pike, and walleye, just to name a few.

We always hook up with Anderson’s Canoe Outfitters at Crane Lake, Minnesota.  Mark has a full service outfitter setup to help you with your journey, along with anything else you may be curious about.  He has a great staff on hand to answer any questions you may have.  He does many destinations in the Boundary Waters area where the fishing is incredible.  We usually get a group together and enjoy a full week of backcountry camping in the remote areas…only canoes can reach these areas and they seem untouched by man.  The eagles soar overhead and we usually have groups of otters hanging around for entertainment.  We base camp alongside some really nice rapids and that provides for some incredible fishing!  We’ve caught some extraordinary fish there on our ThrowBack Lures; the top water action is awesome.  We’ve landed Northern pike in the 25-32 inch range, smallmouths in the 5 pound range, and some walleyes in the 10 pound range.  If you’ve ever been interested in a trip like this, check out Anderson’s Canoe Outfitters on the web…you’ll be glad you did.

We have many trips already planned for this new year to several different destinations, as well as Canada.  We will continue to post new pictures of ThrowBack Lures in action and post new videos to our YouTube channel (link is at bottom of home page).  Keep us in your favorites and visit us again for some incredible stories, reviews, and results!
